Knocksink Wood Walk

2.6 miles (4.2 km)

Open Streetmap Knocksink Wood (Coill Chnoc Sinche) is a small deciduous woodland and designated nature reserve set within the Glencullen Valley — a deep, atmospheric gorge with mossy boulders and a shallow, rocky river winding through it. This trail follows the Glencullen River, immersing you in tranquil woodland scenery dominated by sessile oak.
The walk begins at the Knocksink Wood car park at the end of the lane. From there, follow the riverside path with the water on your left until you reach a footbridge. Cross over to continue exploring, climbing briefly along the High Path before descending again to rejoin the riverbank. The return route largely retraces your steps, but instead of the High Path you remain on the riverside trail. The path stays on the southern bank for the final stretch before crossing back over to the car park.
You can continue your walking at Powerscourt Waterfall and Crone Woods.
