Ordnance Survey Map Open Streetmap This walk visits the beautiful Loch Glow Reservoir in the Cleish Hills north of Dunfermline.
You can start your walk from the dam at the eastern end of the water and then follow footpaths west along the loch. It's a tranquil place with lovely views over the water to the surrounding hills and countryside. The walk can be extended by heading into the surrounding forestry and hills.

Further Information and Other Local Ideas

Just to the north of the loch there's hill climbs to the Inneans and Dumglow where there's some excellent views over the area.
You could also head south towards Dunfermline and visit Townhill Country Park, Gartmorn Dam Country Park, Dollar Glen, Alva Glen, Glendevon and Lochore Meadows Country Park. These local parks have a good selection of walking and cycling trails to try. The splendid Loch Leven and the remote Loch Fitty are also not too far away.

The Dam. Despite its size, the reservoir only had a trickle of water flowing out through the concrete-lined channel when this photograph was taken. The loch is well used by anglers - their cars and the caravan of the fishing club are visible at the end of the reservoir ie at the end of the loose surface road.

The Inneans, central hill. The Inneans (always known in the plural) are three small elongated hills to the north of the loch. This is the central hill, viewed from the forest edge. The shadow of the trees extends halfway across the field from the barbed wire fence.
