Poulanass Waterfall Loop Walk
This loop walk takes you to the Poulanass Waterfall in Glendalough, County Wicklow.
From the Upper Lake car park you can follow the pink-marked Poulanass Walk south along the pretty Lugduff Brook to the waterfall. The walk is relatively easy, well-signposted, peaceful and surrounded by lush woodland. Poulanass, which translates from Irish to "hole of the waterfall," is the focal point of the walk. The waterfall tumbles down a series of rocky steps before entering a pool below. After viewing the waterfall, you can continue the walk up into the forest, which is often much quieter. The trail eventually loops back to the Upper Lake, with great views of the lake and the surrounding mountains.
For a longer loop walk through the area see the Glendalough Lake Walk. The Derrybawn Woodland Trail also starts from the same car park and takes you through some fine ancient woodland.
