Open Streetmap This walk follows a section of the old Woodenbridge to Shillelagh Railway Line near the market town of Tinahely in County Wicklow.
You can start the walk at Greenhall Bridge where there's a Car park for Tomnafinnoge Woods. The route then proceeds north east passing along the Derry River towards Kilcommon Bridge and Tinahely. The walk then finishes near Killaveny Woods.
To continue your walking in the area head north east to visit Avondale Forest Park near Rathdrum. There's miles of peaceful woodland trails with views of the Avonmore River to enjoy as well.

Further Information and Other Local Ideas

To the west there's the town of Carlow where you can pick up the Carlow Oak Park Forest Loop. The trail takes you along boardwalks surrounding a shallow man-made lake with a number of islands.
