College Valley Walk

This circular walk explores the College Valley in the Northumberland National Park. The route begins at Hethpool and first follows the College Burn South before returning to take in the lovely Hethpool Linn Waterfall.
The College Valley is one of the most remote and unspoilt valleys in Northumberland, surrounded by the rolling hills of the Cheviot range.... The valley is particularly attractive for walking, with the College Burn winding through open grassland and the surrounding hills providing a dramatic backdrop.
One of the highlights is Hethpool Linn, a picturesque waterfall where the College Burn tumbles through a rocky gorge. The wooded surroundings and rushing water make this a particularly peaceful spot, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy the wildlife and scenery of the valley.
The area has a strong historical character too, with ancient hillforts and evidence of centuries of settlement scattered across the Cheviot landscape. Hethpool itself is a small hamlet at the head of the valley, making a wonderfully peaceful starting point for exploring this remote corner of the Northumberland National Park.
