Kennack Sands to Cadgwith Walk

1.8 miles (2.9 km)

This walk takes you along the South West Coast Path from Kennack Sands to Cadgwith on the Cornish coast. The route runs for just under 2 miles along a fairly flat waymarked path.... You can start the walk from the good sized car park at Kennack Sands and head south past Poltesco before finishing at the Devil's Frying Pan in Cadgwith.
Kennack Sands is a broad beach backed by dunes and heathland, forming part of a nationally important coastal landscape on the eastern side of the Lizard Peninsula. The path follows low cliffs and coastal grassland with wide views across the English Channel, passing rocky outcrops and small coves along the way.
Near Poltesco, the route passes an area associated with the former serpentine industry, where the distinctive green and red stone found on the Lizard was quarried and worked during the 19th century. Remains of this industrial heritage can still be seen in places along the coast.
The walk finishes at the Devil's Frying Pan, a dramatic collapsed sea cave where the roof has fallen in to create a large circular chasm connected to the sea below. Nearby Cadgwith is a traditional fishing village with whitewashed cottages and a small working beach, providing an attractive end point to this short coastal walk.
