Regional Cycle Route 12 - Bwlch y Groes

24 miles (38.2 km)

A circular cycle route exploring a beautiful section of the Snowdonia National Park.
The route starts off at the beautiful Bala Lake and follows a series of surfaced off road tracks to Lake Vyrnwy before heading through the River Eunant Valley. The final section takes you through the spectacular Bwlch y Groes, the second highest public road mountain pass in Wales, with a summit altitude of 545 metres (1,788 ft). Also known as the Hellfire Pass, it is arguably the most challenging climb in Wales. You are rewarded with fantastic views from the high points though.
