Ballinastoe Forest Walk

This circular walk explores Ballinastoe Forest in Wicklow. The woods are great for walkers with miles of boardwalks and a climb to a fine viewpoint.
This walk takes you along a section of the Wicklow Way on the western side of the forest. Starting from the car park you head north along the trail to Luggala Estate View Point and the J B Malone Memorial. There's wonderful views from here across the Wicklow Mountains and Lough Tay.
To continue your walking in the area you could try the climb to Luggala or continue north along the boardwalk to Djouce Mountain.

Further Information and Other Local Ideas

To the south west is the beautiful heart shaped lake of Lough Ouler. In this area you can also visit the Glenmacnass waterfall and enjoy a climb to the stunning viewpoint at Tonelagee.

J B Malone was an Irish hill-walking enthusiast who popularised the pastime through his television programmes and books.
