Barkley Lake Canal Loop Walk or Cycle

This lakeside walk or cycle follows the Barkley Canal Loop in Kentucky.
Starting from the Woodlands Trace National Scenic Byway parking lot, the Barkley Canal Full Loop is a scenic trail that traces the shores of both Kentucky Lake and Barkley Canal within the Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area. This loop winds through a shaded forest, providing excellent water views throughout. Walkers should be mindful of tree roots along the path. In spring, the trail becomes particularly vibrant with an abundance of wildflowers and butterflies. Other wildlife sightings like birds and turtles are common.
