Ordnance Survey Map Open Streetmap This circular walk takes you to Beamsley Beacon from the village of Addingham in the Yorkshire Dales.
Start the walk from the Suspension Bridge on the eastern side of the village. You can then follow trails north east to climb to Beamsley Beacon. The hill summit stands at a height of 326 metres (1,070 ft) and includes a number of stone cairns, dating from the Bronze Age. From the peak there are expansive views over the surrounding hills and countryside including the nearby Chelker Reservoir.
Head west from the Beacon and you can link up with the Dales Way near Bolton Bridge. Here you can take a small detour from the route to visit the splendid ruins at Bolton Abbey.
This route heads south along the River Wharfe to return you to Addingham.
