Enjoy waymarked trails, pretty gardens and lovely views of the Antrim Coast in this country park near Larne in County Antrim. There's 191 hectares to explore with woodland trails, a maze, a beautiful sculptured walled garden and a wonderful coastline.
To continue your walking in the area head north to Glenarm where you can visit the historic Glenarm Castle and enjoy a walk around their beautiful grounds and gardens. Near here there's more fine coastal views and an ancient ruined church in Cushendall.

The woodland and parkland make for a pleasant dog walk though they are not allowed in all areas of the park.

Further Information and Other Local Ideas

Head west and you could enjoy a climb to the popular Slemish Mountain. There's excellent views over the area from the summit of this viewpoint near Broughshane.
A few miles to the north west there's miles of woodland trails to enjoy in the expansive Glenariff Forest Park and Ballypatrick Forest.
The epic Gobbins Cliff Path and the Blackhead Lighthouse are further south along the coast and well worth a visit.
A few miles to the south there's the Woodburn Forest near Carrickfergus. Here you'll find miles of good woodland trails and a number of attractive reservoirs.
Also nearby is the Glenoe Waterfall. The picturesque falls are located in the pretty village of Glenoe in County Antrim. It's a fine place for a walk with pleasant trails taking you through peaceful woodland to the 30ft high waterfall.

The 'Northern Ireland Maze'. The maze was created in 1986, the 'Northern Ireland' theme a result of a design competition. It is planted in 'carpinus betulus', a variety of hornbeam.

Ice House. The Ice House was constructed in the mid 1800s to store ice for Cairncastle Lodge. It was built into the hill and would have had earth and vegetation piled on top to help keep the ice cool.
