Ordnance Survey Map Open Streetmap This walk visits the source of the River Thames from the town of Cirencester.
From the town you can follow the Monarch's Way south west to the Source of the Thames near Kemble. Here you can pick up the Thames Path National Trail and follow it south along the infant River Thames to Somerford Keynes where you can explore the lakes of the Cotswold Water Park.
On the way you can enjoy some lovely countryside views and visit the pretty villages of Kemble and Ewen. In this area the Thames is only a stream and only about 6 feet wide.
