Elsdon Burn Walk
3.1 miles (5 km)
This circular walk explores the area to the south of the Northumberland village of Elsdon.
On the way you will enjoy fine views of the Whiskershiel Burn and the surrounding countryside, woods and hills of this attractive area. The village is also worthy of exploration with its ancient church, a large village green, the remains of the old motte and bailey castle and a noteworthy Pele tower to see.
You can start the walk from the public car park in the village centre. The trail then heads south past Eldon Bridge and the pretty burn. You continue to Gallow Hill where there's some ancient earthworks and excellent views over the area.
