Flamborough to Bempton Cliffs Walk
This walk follows a section of the England Coast Path from Flamborough Head to Bempton Cliffs on the North York Moors coast.
It's about a 5 mile walk between the two scenic attractions, passing along a wonderful cliff top path. There's interesting rock formations, wonderful sea views and huge variety of wildlife to look out for on the way. Keep your eyes peeled for sea birds including fulmars, herring gulls, kittiwakes, guillemots, razorbills and puffins.
You begin at the car park beside the iconic Flamborough Head lighthouses—one dating from 1674 and the other from 1806—then follow the white chalk cliffs northward. The path skirts sea-carved caves and dramatic stacks such as the Pinnacles before reaching the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs, where vertical chalk faces rise over 300 feet and hundreds of thousands of seabirds nest each summer. Be mindful of cliff edges on exposed sections, and enjoy the mix of maritime grasses and wildflowers that carpet the cliff tops in summer.
