Garryduff Woods Loop Walk
This circular walk explores Garryduff Woods on the south eastern edge of Cork.
The woodland is a mix of broadleaf and conifer trees, with winding paths and pretty streams that create a sheltered and peaceful atmosphere. In spring and summer, wildflowers line the trails, while the calls of woodland birds can often be heard overhead. The varied habitat also attracts butterflies and small mammals, making it a lively spot for nature.
The paths are mostly level and well-defined, making the walk suitable for most abilities. Several routes branch off, allowing walkers to explore deeper into the forest or follow shorter loops depending on the time available.
As the walk continues, occasional clearings open up to give glimpses of the surrounding countryside, contrasting with the enclosed woodland sections. The route eventually loops back to the starting point, offering a tranquil circuit close to the city yet surrounded by nature.
You can continue your walking in the area on the Cork Marina Walk.
