Lingmoor Fell Walk
Enjoy wonderful views of the Langdale Valley on this walk to Lingmoor Fell in the Lake District. This route starts from The Old Dungeon Ghyll hotel and takes you to the 469 m (1,539 ft) summit via Side Pike. The fell divides the valleys of Great Langdale and Little Langdale commanding splendid views of the two. The walk includes a woodland section at the start and the option to take a small detour to the beautiful Lingmoor Tarn. If you are looking for a shorter route to the summit then you could park at the car park at Blea Tarn and head north along the country lane to Bleatarn house where a path will take you to the summit of Lingmoor Fell.
To continue your walking in the area you could try our Little Langdale circular walk. The route visits Little Langdale Tarn and the intriguing cave system at Cathedral Cavern. The climb through Hell Gill Gorge also starts from the hotel and includes some lovely waterfalls and more great views.

Pubs/Cafes
The National Trust's Sticklebarn is a great place for refreshments after your walk. The pub has a great menu and a nice outdoor seating area with lovely views for finer days. There's a roaring fire in the cosy interior for the winter months.

View towards the fell. The fell, seen from the National Trust footpath near the Langdale road. From this side, a wooded gully dominates the hillside. The white dot at the bottom of the gully is Blea Tarn House.
Lingmoor Fell. At 1,540 feet, this mountain is not particularly high. Scafell Pike at 3,209 feet is more than twice as high for instance. However, it still offers a good viewpoint in different directions.
Ruin on the fell. The fell is covered with old ruins and disused slate quarries. Looking over Silver How towards Fairfield.
Summit cairn on Lingmoor Fell. Through the rocks you can see Lake Windermere.
Side Pike. Stands at a height of 362 metres.
The track to Lingmoor Fell
Lingmoor Tarn. You could take a detour from the route to visit this tarn which lies just to the north of the fell summit.
