Seefin Passage Tomb Walk
This loop walk climbs to Seefin Mountain and a 5,000-year-old passage tomb near Kilbride in County Wicklow.
The trail begins on quiet country lanes before rising through open hillside and heath. As you gain height, the views open out across the Wicklow Mountains, the Blessington Lakes and, on a clear day, as far as Dublin Bay.
At the summit, the large Neolithic tomb stands on the crest of the mountain, built from massive stones and still retaining a passageway leading into the central chamber. The site gives a strong sense of the area’s ancient history and makes a striking contrast with the wide modern views all around.
The descent follows a different route, completing a loop back to the start point. The walk combines archaeological interest with mountain scenery, making it a rewarding outing in this part of Wicklow.
You can continue your walking in the area on the Sorrel Hill Walk or the Blessington Lakes Walk.
