Wannie Line Walk

6.5 miles (10.5 km)

Ordnance Survey Map Open Streetmap This circular walk follows sections of the old Wannie and Rothbury railway lines through the Wallington Estate in Northumberland.
You can start the walk from the Scots Gap car park and follow paths to the pretty Delf Burn, the Delf Woodland Plantation, an old quarry and lime kilns. On the way you will also enjoy some splendid views of the surrounding hills and countryside. It tends to be a quiet area so it should be a very peaceful walk with moments of solitude for the lone walker.
You can extend the walk by heading south to visit Wallington Hall where you'll find some lovely grounds with lakes, woodland, parkland and a beautiful walled garden.
