Ordnance Survey Map Open Streetmap This cycle route takes you to the lovely Wicken Fen Nature Reserve in Cambridgeshire.
The route runs along a section of National Cycle Route 11 so is signposted throughout. It's an easy ride, running for a distance of about 8 miles along flat paths.
Starting in Ely you head south along a fine traffic path along the River Great Ouse to Barway. Here you leave the river and continue along quiet country lanes to Wicken Fen. Here you will find another cycle trail to follow through the reserve which includes flowering meadows, reedbeds and waterways. You can also see a variety of wildlife such as hen harriers, water voles and bitterns.
