Bay Lough Walk

This walk visits Bay Lough near Tullaghorton, County Tipperary.
The Corrie lake is part of theKnockmealdown Mountain range, a stunning area popular with hikers.
You can start the walk from the car parking area at The Vee just to the south of the lake. From here you can pick up a pleasant trail heading north for just over 1km to reach the lough. It's a beautiful and remote area with wonderful views over the water to the surrounding mountains.

Further Information and Other Local Ideas

To the north is Cahir Castle where you will find a 12th century fortress wonderfully positioned on an island in theriver Suir. The castle grounds and the town are a lovely place for a stroll in the area.Near here there's also the Rock Of Cashel. The ancient site houses Ireland's most remarkable collection of medieval structures. In Cashel you can also visit the photogenic ruins of Hore Abbey which lies just to the west of the Rock.
To the north west there's the Galty Mountains where you can enjoy a walk to the secluded Lough Curra, climb to the excellent viewpoint at Galtymore Mountain and try the Lake Muskry Trail.
To the east there's the stunning Comeragh Mountains to explore. Here you can try the popular CoumshingaunLake Loop Walk or visit the picturesque Mahon Falls. Also in this area there's the Lough Mohra and Rath Beag Loop. The lake is a glacial coum and located in a lovely remote spot with beautiful countryside, forestry and mountains surrounding it.
