Olton Reservoir

Olton Reservoir or Mere is located in the Solihull area.
The mere is the location of Olton Mere Sailing Club. See the link on details of how to join the private club. Members can learn to sail on the mere or you can enjoy a walk around the private lake. It's a lovely peaceful place for a stroll with lots of wildlife to see on the water. Keep your eyes peeled for herons, ducks and moorhens on your visit.
You can visit the site from Olton train station which lies just to the north. Near here you can also pick up the Grand Union Canal Walk

Further Information and Other Local Ideas

Just to the east there's Sheldon Country Park and Elmdon Park where there are more good walking trails to try. Just to the west there's Moseley Bog and Sarehole Mill.
