Redesdale Forest, Three Kings Stone Circle and Hindhope Linn Walk
This circular walk in the Redesdale Forest visits the Three Kings Stone Circle and the lovely Hindhope Linn waterfall.
The varied walk includes peaceful woodland trails, a picturesque waterfall, an historic ancient site and finishes with a nice riverside section along the River Rede.
The stone circle dates from the Bronze Age and is said to mark the grave of three kings of Denmark who died in battle. There's also some fine views of the surrounding Cheviot Hills to enjoy from the elevated spot. The circle is located a short walk north west of the car park.
At Hindhope Linn you'll see a photogenic waterfall located in a secluded dell.
The walk can be started from the Blakehopeburnhaugh car park near to the falls.
The riverside section follows part of the Pennine Way which you can use to extend your walk.
