Weelsby Woods
This country park has mature trees, woodland, and large grassy areas to explore. Look out for a variety of woodland birds, foxes, and small mammals as you make your way along the footpaths. It's a popular place with a free car park and plenty of easy, surfaced trails to try.
The park is located near Cleethorpes and Grimsby. Cleethorpes Country Park is less than a mile away so you could continue your walk there and then along the nearby Cleethorpes seafront.

Further Information and Other Local Ideas
To continue your walking in the area head south and try the Cleethorpes to Tetney Lock Walk. The walk takes you along the Tetney Marshes RSPB nature reserve to the pretty lock on the Louth Canal. There's lots of coastal wildlife to look out for on the way too.
The Grimsby Walk starts from the train station in the town and visits the interesting National Fishing Heritage Centre at Alexandra Dock. The museum transports you back in time to the 1950’s heyday of this famous port.
If you head a few miles west you could pick up the Wanderlust Way around the little village of Barnoldby le Beck. The 20 mile circular walk explores the Lincolnshire Wolds and includes views of the Humber Estuary.

Entrance to Weelsby Woods. There are two lions that stand either side of the main entrance to the woods. The lions are apparently over 100 years old. They were renovated and cleaned in 2006 and subsequently look different to how I remember them!
