Burton Dassett Hills Country Park

This super country park is comprised of a group of ironstone hills which rise to 203m (667 ft). As such there are splendid views over the surrounding Warwickshire countryside from Burton Dassett. There are 100 acres to explore with sites of historical interest such as the beacon, quarry remains and the nearby 12th Century All Saints Church.
The Centenary Way walking route also passes through the park so you could continue your walk if you have time.

Pubs/Cafes

In the warmer months you'll generally find an ice cream van at the site where you can pick up some basic refreshments. If you fancy something more substantial head into Northend where and pay a visit to The Red Lion. It's a fine traditional village pub with a good menu at reasonable prices. They also have a good sized garden area to relax in on warmer days. You can find the pub just to the north of the park on Bottom Street, Northend with a postcode of CV47 2TJ for your sat navs.

Dog Walking

The open space of the hills are an excellent place to bring your dog. You're bound to bump into other dogs on a fine day when you visit. The Red Lion pub mentioned above is also very dog friendly and can provide water bowls and treats.

Further Information and Other Local Ideas

Pick up the Centenary Way and you could follow it south and visit Avon Dasset, Farnborough Hall, Arlescote and the nearby Edge Hill. The park is located near the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the famous Edgehill battle field. In the park there's sixteen acres of mixed grass and woodland, with extensive views over the rural South Warwickshire countryside.
Near here there's also the village of Tysoe where you could enjoy a climb to the Tysoe Windmill. The photogenic old mill sits on top of a 184 metre hill with excellent views over the Cotswolds.
Just to the north west is Gaydon where you can visit the British Motor Museum. The noteworthy museum houses one of the largest collections of historic British cars in the world.
