Hassocks to Lewes Walk

Ordnance Survey Map Open Streetmap This walk takes you from Hassocks to Lewes in Sussex. The route runs for 10.6 miles, following waymarked footpaths across the South Downs to Lewes. From the high points there are some fine views over the surrounding hills and countryside.
The walk starts from the train station in Hassocks and heads east to the neighbouring village of Ditchling. You then head south to Ditchling Beacon where you can explore a wildlife rich nature reserve with excellent views over the South Downs.
The route then picks up the The South Downs Way National Trail to take you east towards Plumpton Plain and Ashcombe Bottom. At Offham you then pick up a pleasant riverside path to take you south into Lewes where you finish at the train station.
