Mount Brandon Walk
5 miles (8 km)
This challenging but rewarding trail takes you to the summit of the highest mountain on the Dingle Peninsula. The climb is well worth the effort, offering beautiful views of the Atlantic and the surrounding area.
The mountain has a long history as a pilgrimage site, with pilgrims making the slow journey to the summit for centuries on traditional dates like the feast of St Brendan (May 16th).
The trail has a steady incline from the beginning and is marked by a series of crosses representing the stations of the cross. Between each cross, you'll find white posts with reflectors to guide your way until you reach the largest cross at the summit.
You can continue your walking in the area by heading west to pick up the Ballydavid Cliff Walk.
