Ringstead Circular Walk - Kinewell Lake and River Walk
This circular walk explores the countryside and neighbouring villages around the Northamptonshire village of Ringstead.
The route makes use of a section of the Nene Way which runs through the area. On the way you'll visit the village of Denford and Woodford while enjoying waterside paths along the river and lakes which are typical of the area.
The walk can be started and finished from the public car park just west of the village at the pretty Kinewell Lake. The lake is a lovely place for an easy stroll with lots of wildlife to see on the way. The paths on the lake will take you up to the pretty Woodford Mill on the Nene.
The walk can easily be extended by heading a short distance to the north to visit Thrapston and the lovely Titchmarsh Nature Reserve.

The Water Mill Tea Rooms are a great place to enjoy some refreshments on the walk. The tea rooms have a lovely garden area right next to the river. Here you can enjoy a good range of meals and snacks with a view over the water. You can find them at Woodford Mill with a postcode of NN14 4DU for your sat navs. If you prefer a pub lunch then the Axe and Compass in the village is a good option. The historic inn dates back to 1796 and serves good home cooked dishes. They can be found at 14 Carlow Rd, NN14 4DW.
The river trails make for a pleasant dog walk. The tea rooms and pub mentioned above are also dog friendly.
